Real Wedding Stories of How Our Couples Met and How They Proposed

Here are some real stories from some of our brides…

Bobby proposed on April Fools Day! (Luckily, it wasn’t a joke). He had a friend take me out for a movie and then when I got home there were scrabble tiles with notes leading me through our house and to the backyard. The scrabble tiles spelled out Marry Me but since he had to ask me out twice, he also asked me to marry him twice so when I got outside he had spelled out Will You Marry Me? in hundreds of tea light candles. It was absolutely amazing.

We were high school sweethearts. We dated for three years, into college, and then parted ways but remained friends. Five years later, we ended up back together, and now we are finally getting married! He proposed to me on Christmas morning, 2010. He had put a card in my stocking, and when I opened it it read “Will you…” When I looked up, he was kneeling by the tree with a ring. He even asked for my parents’ blessing first, which was adorable.

Adam and I met through mutual friends about 8 years ago, only started dating a little over 4 years ago. We have been inseparable ever since! He proposed to me on top of Mount Washington in NH. I think our biggest challenge is that our families are complete opposites. My family is very conservative (very religious) and his family likes to party (as do Adam and I).

Daryl and I took our first vacation this February in Las Vegas. Well we departed on the 4th from MA and we boarded the plan and were on our way. We had a relaxing flight all the way out there and we made it to McCarran Airport. Well when we got there we had to go to the rental car place. We got the car and we were getting ready to load the car….Daryl immediately said ” Dad, Erin…get in the car”….well honestly in my head I was like WTF is he going to tell his mom that i am the worst person to travel with.

I said “fine…I will grab the laptop bag” and get in. Daryl was like….”NO don’t grab a thing..just get in the car” (Little did I know his mom had the ring and was giving it to him to put in the lap top bag) So we got to The Flamingo and we were checking in….and as soon as we got up to the room I had to pee….Daryl immediately asked if I was going to be long, I told him I would try not to make him wait… as soon as I came out….He asked me to come over to the chair that was in the window overlooking the entire strip and sit down. He turned on George Straits song ” I Cross My Heart” and started singing to me. As he was singing I kept wanting to pull him close and hug him….well he finally said to me “LET ME FINISH” so I did and at the end of the song he got down on his knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him and be his wife!!!
