Music Inspired Wedding Ideas For Your Wedding Day
Music Inspired Wedding Ideas: If you are anything like me, music has always been a big part of my life. I grew up in a big family (6 siblings) and a good day was hiding away from all of them and listening to my favorite songs on the radio or trading mix-tapes with friends and finding new bands. A group of us used to catch all the local bands or trek for hours to hear our favorite DJs when they were playing in the area. We’d travel from Southern VT to NY to catch shows and experience clubs. If you are as big of a music enthusiast as I am, maybe you want to infuse that love of music into your wedding day? We can help with that.
We’ve had clients that wanted to play nothing but a specific artist for their social hour because it was their first concert together. We’ve had wedding couples obsessed with specific artists and we have run sound for them as they perform social hour at their wedding (yes – we can handle most audio requirements of artists like this) Two of my DJs are audio engineers (graduates of University of Hartford) and many of my DJs also perform in bands, so we know all about live sound. Music is in our veins and it has been such a large part of my life growing up – that’s why I gave up my engineering career and became a full-time DJ and business owner.
What is your music obsession? Maybe it’s acoustic covers of 80s hair band hits or mashups of Taylor Swift songs or the EDM pulse of Kygo and Galantis. Maybe you play in a band yourself or your friends and family are all musicians? What aspect of your musical life do you want to reflect on your wedding plans? We can work with your supplied Spotify list or send us recordings of you and your friends performing so we can play it back at your wedding.
We’ve had grooms perform a song for their beloved or brides to take a turn spinning tunes with our DJ system. We can pre-arrange for you to spin a set of music at your own wedding if that’s what you want to do. We can even pre-mix the set and you can just come up and PRETEND to DJ if you just want the photo opportunity as bride-DJ. We even can arrange for a nice white pair of DJ headphones for you!

Wedding Cocktail Hour Music
There is no need to play instrumental jazz music for your social hour playlist unless you are INTO INSTRUMENTAL JAZZ MUSIC. Think of what feel you are looking to set at your cocktail hour. Want to play island music that reminds you of that Jamaican vacation you took together or maybe you want to bring out the classic rock as a nod to your parent’s era music that you grew up with.
Or, think of all those songs and artists that you love but you know are not known for their danceable tunes. Cocktail and dinner are a great way to bring in different feels to match your style and we can help you create that unique soundtrack to your wedding day. Many couples think that cocktail and dinner music is of no concern to them, but for our music-obsessed couples, it’s a great way to infuse your personalities into your wedding day from the first song to the last played.
Grab your phone, check your favorite playlists or send us a Spotify music playlist or your favorite Pandora radio station and we will take it from there.

Music Inspired Guest Book
Why not have your wedding guests sign an acoustic guitar and then hang it on your wall. You can add the concert stubs from your favorite concert for even more personalization to your wedding guest book.
You can find an acoustic guitar and even get it PAINTED IT to match your wedding decor if you wish.

“I had the chance to work with DJ Pat B for my wedding and he was absolutely amazing. He was super nice and nothing but professional. I would recommend him to anyone that wants to have a fun wedding. He was able to keep everyone up and dancing all night. He played music that I wanted but also an assortment of different music as well to make sure all ages of people were having fun which I’m grateful for. He was also great at working with my wedding coordinator to keep everything moving smoothly so nothing was forgotten. One of the best!”

“Working with Rob for our wedding was a pleasure. He was easy to get in touch with in the months before the big day, asked all the right questions to figure out what our preferences were, and generally made the weekend much less stressful than it could’ve been. All the audio in the ceremony went smoothly, and people were on the dance floor all night — his music choices nailed the tone we were going for. Excellent job all around.”

Retro Turntable and Vinyl As Decor Piece At Your Wedding
Something as simple as a retro-style turntable and some of your favorite vinyl albums can be a unique decor piece in your wedding lounge area or mix it with florals for even more of an impact.
I grew up with the original High Fidelity movie, but loved the Hulu remake with Zoe Kravitz – so I decided to make some of my favorite High Fidelity Inspired Wedding Lists – check them out.

Create Table Assignments With Old Vinyl Records
Who needs a donut wall when you can have a 45 wall with table assignments at your wedding? I am a huge Mrs. Murphy’s donut fan, but I’m a sucker for music-themed decor pieces at weddings.
What inspires you? An old jukebox? Musical instruments? Talk with your wedding planner or florist and see what you can come up with for decor pieces at your wedding.

“Jesse was our DJ and he was absolutely fantastic! He was so helpful and was very easy to communicate with while we were planning our wedding. The playlist was spectacular and everyone danced all night. Plus, all of the guests at the wedding loved the photo booth and thought it as a great touch. I would highly recommend using Jesse to anyone in need of a DJ!”

Meet Kayla & Scott
Kayla & Scott had their wedding at The Aqua Turf. The unique thing about their wedding was that Kayla wanted to surprise Scott, a big Star Wars fan. Months before the wedding, Kayla and I were meeting and planning in secrecy. Kayla was working with the groomsmen for their stormtrooper entrance to the wedding.
Scott had no idea what was happening and it was such a huge surprise to both he and all their guests. To this day, on their anniversary – Kayla reposts the youtube video we took of that Storm Trooper march into their reception and the mashup dance that ensued.
I’ve got to watch their family grow over the years and the two of them continue to recommend us to all their friends and family.
