DIY Weddings – What To Do and What Not To Do DIY For Your Own Wedding

DIY For Your Own Wedding? Sometimes when planning your wedding, it becomes a budget issue and you need to make some compromises to meet your wedding budget constraints. Maybe you need to scale down your guest count or opt for the less expensive caterer or venue.  Maybe your cousin is going to bake the cake or your aunt is doing your photography. We are here to help.  We have different price points for our wedding DJs available to help fit your budget.  If our budget-friendly DJs are still not within your budget, we also offer other DIY options for your wedding.

Are you planning a DIY wedding?  Want to be your own DJ?  Do you have a friend that’s a DJ, but they are from out of town?  Maybe you are having a 50 person informal wedding v. a larger 150+ person wedding.   Are you renting a back room at a restaurant or maybe your wedding is going to be a backyard BBQ style informal wedding?  Don’t have any music gear but you can make a killer Spotify playlist?

Whatever the case is – there are some things that you can do for a DIY Wedding.   The iPod Wedding has gotten some bad publicity in the news and on the internet.  If you are expecting your iPod Wedding to be similar to a larger scale formal wedding – then you are going to be let down.  If your friend is from Alaska and is a professional DJ, but just needs to rent DJ equipment, then it will be more like a formal wedding.

Asking for a musician friend to play your cocktail hours as your musician or for your wedding ceremony is a great way to personalize your wedding plans.  We rent electric keyboards or band PA systems to make it all work for your wedding ceremony and reception needs. We’ve seen both these situations while doing iPod wedding rentals.  A relaxed beach wedding (no dancing) was a great place for an iPod wedding rental.  With others, there was a professionally trained and experienced person DJing – they were just using our gear.
