The Berkshires MA – Get Away From The City For Your Wedding
Destination Wedding Alternatives – The Berkshires: Thinking of getting away from the city for your wedding? Boston wedding prices got you concerned that you can’t afford the size and style wedding that you’ve been dreaming about? A Berkshire MA destination wedding might be just right for you.
The great thing about the Berkshires – it’s only about 2 hours (130 miles) from downtown Boston. From NYC, the Berkshires is less than 3 hours drive (150 miles) North. Head to the Berkshire hills, unplug & put your phone away. It’s a perfect alternative to downtown Boston area wedding venues. Skip the city traffic and bring your family and wedding guests for a relaxing weekend in the Berkshires for your wedding weekend. Stroll downtown W. Stockbridge and grab an ice cream cone as you window shop the quaint shops. Or, relax lakeside at one of our Lake Houses as you breathe in the fresh air and a little bit of nature that you can’t get in the city.
“Rob Alberti was so amazing and accommodating with all my changes and concerns. He made sure it was done. Tony was my DJ and he had my wedding Rocking all night long. I could not have asked for a better day. Thank you so much”

Alternative NYC Wedding Venues – Destination The Berkshires
You have your choice of Berkshire Mansion wedding venues, Museum wedding venues, tented weddings and barn weddings – all within a short distance all around the Berkshire area.
The average price wedding in the Boston metro area is over $36,000. For the NYC metro area – that average price is nearly $39,000. For our Southern friends, Hartford metro area is around $36,000 as well. In the Berkshires, the average price is around $28,000 (of course there are many of our wedding clients that spend well over that). Your local Berkshire wedding vendors typically have a lower overhead cost and therefore are a bargain compared to most city wedding vendors with high overhead costs that must be paid in the form of higher wedding rates to you.
Of course, it’s not just about the money – The Berkshires have an amazing variety of venues to choose from. Looking to have your wedding in a Mansion, under a tent or in a barn? In just a 15 mile radius, you can find all those and more in the Berkshire Hills. There are museums, mansions from the guilded ages, rustic barns and quaint bed and breakfasts along with boutique hotels – all just a short drive around the Berkshires.
You owe it to yourself, while thinking of places to get marries – think out of the box and out of the city. Take a look at what your wedding might feel like in the Berkshires. No pollution. No liter. No graffiti. Slow things down and make an entire weekend out of your wedding celebration in the Berkshires. Your friends and family will remember it for a lifetime.

“Rob was great! While planning a wedding, you want your vendors to be attentive to emails/phone calls and Rob was on top of every question that came up. I was lucky enough to see him in action at a friends wedding, and I knew I wanted him for my own wedding. He didn’t disappoint. Worth every penny. We used his photo booth as well and it was a hit.”

Music That Reminds Me Of The Berkshires
Destination Wedding Alternatives – The Berkshires
Here are some songs that remind me of the Berkshires – it might be a musical artist that performed at Tanglewood. It might be someone that I ran into while in Mass MoCA or on the streets of Great Barrington. Listen and enjoy a little piece of my musical memories of The Berkshires. What songs remind you of your summers in The Berkshires or your time at Williams College?
“From start to finish, Rob was warm and funny (taking the stress out) and still professional. All the details matched up to what we discussed, and the photo booth was a big hit with our crowd. The dance floor was almost always packed, and if there ever was a lull, Rob and his team knew exactly what to play to get it back to “bumpin”. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a professional DJ to make your day special.”

“We hired Rob for ceremony music and mic-ing, and DJ services for our wedding reception. We could not have asked for a more accommodating, diligent DJ than Rob Alberti. From the first email inquiry to meeting Rob in person and finalizing all the little details, Rob was professional, accommodating, easy to reach and quick to respond. My husband was very particular about the type of music he wanted to hear during the ceremony and dinner, and Rob delivered! All our chosen songs sounded great and there was never an issue obtaining them, even when we wanted a hard to get song for our first dance. He is extremely organized with his run-of-day work sheet and kept the reception flowing with having all our little events start right one time. All our guests loved the music, and Rob handled a few last minute changes and requests from me with ease (a last minute speech from my father, and guest music requests!). I’m very appreciative of Rob’s service and highly recommend his company for anyone having a wedding or special event.”

“We had Tony Simmons DJ our wedding and he was absolutely fantastic!! We didn’t meet him in person before booking him, but he did arrange a phone call where he discussed all the relevant information- what we should look for in a DJ, what his style is as a DJ, what we can expect from Rob Alberti as a company, etc. He was extremely thorough and helpful in answering all our questions, and gave great advise throughout the process. Rob Alberti was very flexible with our requests and responded quickly to any emails. I highly highly recommend them!
On our wedding day, Tony could not have been more amazing! He let us pick specific songs we wanted but was also able to basically do the cocktail hour and reception music with little to no guidance from us (we just gave vague genres we wanted). His DJing was so great that people were actually dancing even before the salad was plated and the dancing didn’t end until the very last song. And actually, our guests were having such a great time they begged for another last song (after our official last one) which Tony very kindly obliged them in, much to their delight! His assistant was also fantastic- asked questions when needed and helped the day go smoothly.
Tony was extremely flexible before and during the day, and I really can’t emphasize this enough. For example, he spent a lot of time creating a father/daughter dance mashup with several songs we picked, and then my father and I decided not to do it because our guests were having such a great time dancing already. I had even offered to pay for his additional work of making the mix but Tony declined, showing again how accommodating and kind he was. Also- at the very last second our wedding party decided to change the song playing during their introduction to the reception! Tony happily did so, but only after checking with me that it was ok, and seeing their surprise dance was a highlight of our wedding. Again- highly recommend this company and Tony in particular!!”
