Beth + Eric – The North House – Avon CT – Wedding DJ
We have DJ’d weddings at The North House in Avon for 30 years now – even going back to when it was called Avon Old Farms Inn. Beth + Eric were both school teachers. When we first met to talk details, their goal was to create a big party. They wanted to limit the oldies and stay away from line dances (and disco). No problem. They expected more friends than family as guests. When it came time for wedding day, it was more family than friends and we had to rethink the music mix as they had probably more than 50 older guests.
I was able to get the older guests up and dancing between courses to help get the party started earlier (and before older guests left early, which is typical). With our remote speakers both in the lobby of The North House and outside near the firepit, even guests that were not inside dancing were able to hear and interact with the music and announcements.
They were both big “The Office” fans so I arranged for a custom sound clip from The Office right before their last song of the night.
Ceremony Processional: Bless The Broken Road (Instrumental)
Ceremony Recessional: This Will Be (Everlasting Love) – Natalie Cole
Introductions: Marry You – Bruno Marrs
First Dance: Mean To Me – Brett Eldredge
Cake: Sugar Sugar – Archies
Beth & Dad: I Loved Her First – Heartland
Eric & Mom: The Man You Have Become – Wedding Music Central
Last Song: Closing Time – Semisonic
