Defending The Right To Be Ignorant
Why is it that so many disc jockey's are DJing on the side and do not make it their "Profession"? It's probably because they are not good enough to earn a living doing it. (YES, the truth hurts) I have been djing for over 25 years and for the better part of the last ten years, this has been my main source of income - Full-time DJ. There is no one that is going to work harder to make sure your event is a success. Why? This is not just something that I do on the side. This is not just something that I don't put any effort into. This is who I am. This is what I do.
I was recently at a DJ Training seminar out near Boston. Only 1 Western MA DJ was there. When I was down in Atlantic City for the International DJ Convention in August, none of the Wesstern MA DJs and very few of the CT djs were in attendace at the seminars (some came down just to gamble). I am not ignorant. I know that even after 25 years in the industry, that I still have things to learn. I am always striving to better myself as a DJ. When you talk to other DJs - ask them when the last time they went to a training seminar or learned something new to incorporate in their events? Part-time DJs and DJs that haven't changed what they do for the past 10 years are not professional DJs. This is my profession. Do they have subscriptions to the leading trade publications? Do they spend hours preparing for your wedding date or do they just wing it? Do they spend anytime on their busines? We run our disc jockey business like it's a business, not a hobby. That means that we will be there for you when you're nervous about your wedding plans or need advise. We will be there to guide you through your day and we will make your party happen. No cookie cutter McWeddings from us. Your event will be unique and styled just exactly what you envisioned. Why hire a part-time hobby DJ when you've invested so much time and effort into your wedding plans? Give me 20 minutes and I can show you what we can help you achieve at your wedding.
