John & Danielle had a beautiful outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour at Saybrook Point Inn in Old Saybrook out on the deck. Inside, we provided uplighting in amber for the ballroom. Guests didn't wait until the end of dinner - they were up dancing before the main course came out. The dance floor was packed the entire night as we ended with a custom Michael Jackson medley and Danielle tossed her bouquet.

A Jubilee Event: Cameron + Josh’s Wedding at The Wadsworth Mansion, Middletown Connecticut
A beautiful summers afternoon was the setting at The Wadsworth Mansion in Middletown, Connecticut for Cameron and Josh’s classic wedding. Surrounded by 100 of their nearest and dearest, they exchanged heartfelt vows on the great lawn and danced the night away under a beautiful Sperry Tent.
Cameron and Josh chose simple shades of white, blush pink and charcoal. In their pursuit for wedding decor, they amassed an impressive collection of unique milk glass pieces that Elisabeth from BLUSH arranged peonies and large garden roses in.Gourmet Galley served up a delicious evening of vegetarian delights as guests dined on lasagna and pappardelle pasta. Yum!

Jennifer & Clark’s Wedding Reception at The New Haven Lawn Club – Architectural Uplighting
We were asked by Jennifer and Clark to light their wedding reception at The New Haven Lawn Club. Now, if you have never seen The New Haven Lawn Club, it is this turn of the century old world banquet room. The unique chandeliers in this hall are completely stunning. We provided lighting on the back wall behind the band (texture pattern), uplighting on the stage, behind the bar and all around the room.

Jubilee Events Event Planning Boutique – Open House Event Lighting
Jubilee Events (and Datura Florist) held a shindig to celebrate their new office in Cheshire, CT. With over 100 wedding vendors, clients and industry associates - it was like a who's who of Wedding Photography. I do not even want to mention any names for fear of missing someone important.
I took a few photo (would you believe none of the photographers had their camera?) of this event. We provided background music for the event (Billie Holiday garden party feel for the social hour and then into some old school Michael Jackson and Heavy D as the party progressed). We also up-lit the interior of the studio and outside both the back garden and the front entrance.

Julie and Jason were married in a late afternoon ceremony on May 8th at Hartford City Hall. Their wedding blended different Christian and Jewish traditions and was a huge celebration among their family and friends. Julie’s color story was a muted purple, moss green and white with accents of gold. With their busy lives in D.C. we were so happy to help them coordinate their wedding back home in Connecticut where Julie grew up. In looking through their pictures as we prepared for this blog post, I couldn’t help but notice how excited, happy, and joyful everyone looked on this day. Julie literally beamed– and let me tell you– she has the most beautiful smile. And Jason… well, every time he looked at his beautiful wife, he beamed too.
The morning began with the both of them getting ready in Glastonbury at the bride’s parents home. I absolutely loved the gown that Julie wore, which was embellished just below her hip with a fabric flower, feathers and crystals. She wore a gorgeous cage veil with feathers… perfectly classic and vintage! Her maids were all dressed in purple strapless satin gowns. The groomsmen wore black tuxes with purple pocket squares– while Jason wore some sentimental Curious George cuff-links.
Julie and Jason opted to have an emotional first look prior to the ceremony.
City Hall is a spectacular place for a ceremony– especially for this vintage affair. Julie and her parents were driven to City Hall in a vintage rolls royce, which pulled up front just in time for her to meet Jason at the end of the aisle.
After the ceremony the two of them dashed down the aisle to awaiting congratulations from family and friends. Could there not be a more perfect picture above and below? Robert Norman! After the ceremony, it was off to the gorgeous The Society Room of Hartford to celebrate! The room was lit by our friend, Rob Alberti (who also kept the crowd on their feet all night long!). Julie chose a gorgeous moss green pintuck linen with black lamour napkins. The centerpieces were tall, classic white arrangements… perfect for the setting. Guests dined on a delicious meal, with a generous display of delicious desserts to follow. Jason loves pie– and so the miniature pie dessert table was created!
Their hora was certainly a lively one! We love that a lot of family members, both jewish and non-jewish got lifted up in celebration!
Julie and Jason– congratulations! It was such a pleasure to be with you on your wedding day and to be part of your personal history. You two are a perfect match full of love and laughter. We wish you a life full of just that! We’ve also been secretly stalking your new blog.. and think all our readers should check it out, too! A Surprise Wedding by Jubilee Events
Who doesn’t love surprises? What about a surprise wedding? They are definitely not for the faint of heart, but if executed correctly, can result in a very magical day for all involved. Jubilee Events helped Nika and Jamar pull off just such a feat and it is filled with traditional gorgeousness and some drop dead beautiful fashion to boot. We began working with Nika and Jamar last year and loved their idea of a surprise wedding! Under the rouse that they were attending the newly engaged couples engagement party, guests arrive at the New Haven Lawn Club to a gorgeous, candlelit ceremony. It was such an amazing surprise months in the making! Family members and longtime friends traveled far and wide and were completely caught off guard.
The bride work a beautiful, layered Vera Wang gown with the most BEAUTIFUL Jimmy Choo, art deco inspired shoes! Her best friend, Mariyka, acted as her maid of honor and wore a beautiful Vineyard one shoulder dress with a black feather fascinator in her hair. Nika chose a really beautiful, rich color story of purples, ivory, silver and a pop of red. Elisabeth from Blush created stunning white arrangements for the ceremony that flanked the fireplace in shades of white and ivory. They had mercury votive candles hanging from curly branches and pussy willows. As the sun set, Nika was escorted by her father to an emotional trio of violin to Cannon D. Their ceremony was by candlelight… and their vows very poignant.
For the reception, BLUSH used brightly colored purples with hints of reds on the cocktail tables in mercury vases. Guests dined on a feast by the New Haven Lawn Club of sumptuous cocktails and hor dourves. They had an incredible ensemble of musicians from Elan Artists, and guests were created into the beautifully lit art deco ballroom with vintage Parisian music by Bon Musique. The night was capped off with a final dance by the bride and groom!

Mandy & Brian – The Society Room in Hartford
What a great weekend for a wedding at The Society Room in Hartford. The weather was sunny and I worked with some of my favorite wedding vendors. Mandy & Brian had their wedding ceremony at City Hall in Hartford and we provided microphones for the service. Millennium Music provided the music. Mandy & Brian had their event coordinator, Candice from Jubilee Events who handled all the behind the scenes coordination along with her team. One of my favorite photographers - Troy Photography (Lunell & Noel) were both there to capture the moments. (Photos below are OURS - Troy's photos are MUCH BETTER THAN OURS!)
