Music Video Party Week

This week we did two separate music video parties.  One in New Hampshire about 4 hours away and the second a bit closer at Umass Aherst for one of their summer programs.  We come equipped with a club lighting system, 14' diagonal rear projection video screen and over 7,000 music videos.  Check out the video clips below.

The Best Man’s Speech

Now we normally recommend that a speech be limited to only a couple minutes.  The facility bases the meal timing on a short best man speech.  Every minute they run over, the meal stands to not be timed correctly.  Also, every minute you use up means less time to dance later.   The video clip below however is absolutely the exception.  Please watch it completely through.  It's worth it.

Also, for anyone giving speech/toast using our wireless mic - here are a few pointers.

  • Keep the microphone about 1" away from your mouth at all times.  If you keep moving the microphone, the volume of your voice will keep changing.

  • The microphone will already be ON.  All you need to do is pick it up.  It will be stationed at the BRIDE/GROOM's table.  Do not walk up to the DJ booth after we've told you that it's with the BRIDE/GROOM.

  • We will not turn up the volume until we introduce you. Smacking the microphone will not cause us to turn it on any sooner.  Smacking the microphone is also not a good way to test a microphone.  Try saying "HELLO".

  • When you are done with your toast/speech, simply put the microphone back down where you found it.  DO NOT PRESS ANY BUTTONS. We might have someone else using it after you.  We'll take care of the rest.

The Barney Estate at Forest Park

Ellen & Scott had a very intimate family wedding this past weekend at the Barney Estate at Forest Park.  They had friends and family play the keyboard and sing during the ceremony.    Both had children from previous marriages so this was a blending of 2 families.  They chose wisely for the music for their cake cutting - The Brady Bunch Theme.  Thanks for letting me be a part of your celebration.

Butternut Farms, Stow MA

Jenny & Tim's wedding ceremony and reception was held this past weekend at Butternut Farms in Stow, MA.  It was such a nice ceremony outside on the green.  We used golf tees to help the bridemaids know where they should stand for the ceremony.    Jenny & Tim picked out an ecclectic selection of music - from The Pogues to The Rolling Stones and 2Pac.  There was something for everyone that night.  Congratulations to Jenny & Tim.

Be Prepared

So what is the difference between one Master of Ceremonies and just a DJ?  Your Master of Ceremonies will ensure all the behind the scene details are taken care of so that everything runs smoothly at your wedding.  We will ensure your parents are in the room, your photographer is ready, the cater is good to go.

Notice how the cake knife is placed alongside the plate and fork (to encourage use of fork and lessen the chance for a messy cake cutting) and how our wireless microphone is placed at the bride and groom's place setting so the Best Man is in the proper position for the toast and photos.

Springfield Country Club

What a fun wedding this weekend.  Very relaxed for social hour with our Acoustic Dave.  Dave had people dancing and signing along to his music on the deck.  I was inside for dinner and dancing.  The party went on for 7 hours!

We did some of our custom lighting for this event.  Wash LED lights for fireplace and ceiling.  Projected starts up on the ceiling.
